The City of Minot will soon welcome a new 20 mile transmission line.

It will provide an additional much needed power source for people in Minot and Ward County.

The line runs from Velva to just south of Minot.

It includes 206 structures and eight hundred seventy-eight thousand feet of conductor.

“So, this line along with 115KV line which was already here will be additional infrastructure to support the growing area,” said Greg Chamerblain, Xcel Energy Regional Vice President.

The project will be energized in October 2018.
