Residents in North Minot can expected to see a brand new water tower on North Hill.
It’s a been a two year long project but today the 1.5 million gallon bowl was raised to where it will stand.
The new tower will be replacing the tower that currently only holds 500 hundred thousand gallons of water. That tower was placed in the late 1950’s.
Engineers on site say the new tank is something the Minot community needed.
“With all the growth in North Minot –especially the water storage –the capacity is what needed to grow –with the new school, fire flows we needed more capacity in Northwest Minot,” said construction manager Dave Schwengler.
The new tower will not hold water until late fall.
