An onramp to Interstate 94 was blocked off Monday morning when a gravel truck caught fire.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, around 7:30 AM the truck’s driver smelled something burning as he made is way toward the Interstate near McKenzie, about twenty miles east of Bismarck.

The driver pulled over on the westbound onramp to I-94 and exited the truck safely.

A rural fire crew from Sterling, along with the Highway Patrol and Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department, responded to the scene.

Troopers say the ramp will be closed until the gravel truck can be towed away.
