If you have to be rich, be rich in North Dakota – it’s one of the top 10 states that are the most tax-friendly to wealthy people.
In a new data survey from personal finance website WalletHub, high-income earners pay about 6 percent of their income in total taxes to the state.
That includes state sales and excise taxes, property taxes and income taxes.
North Dakota ranks #8 on the top 10 list.
The most tax-friendly state for the wealthy? Alaska, where high-income earners pay 3 percent of their income in taxes.
The least tax-friendly state for the wealthy? New York, where high-income earners pay 12 percent to the state.
