North Dakota a ‘tax-friendly’ state for wealthy people

If you have to be rich, be rich in North Dakota – it’s one of the top 10 states that are the most tax-friendly to wealthy people.

In a new data survey from personal finance website WalletHub, high-income earners pay about 6 percent of their income in total taxes to the state.

That includes state sales and excise taxes, property taxes and income taxes.

North Dakota ranks #8 on the top 10 list.

The most tax-friendly state for the wealthy? Alaska, where high-income earners pay 3 percent of their income in taxes.

The least tax-friendly state for the wealthy? New York, where high-income earners pay 12 percent to the state.
