Health insurance is something we all need. However, enrolling in a health plan can be confusing for all of us.

The North Dakota insurance commission wants the process to be a little easier.
They kicked off a Medicare Part D enrollment series across North Dakota to assist individuals ages 65 and older.

Medicare part D is a program that subsidizes the cost of prescription drugs and premiums.

Today, area residents had the opportunity to meet with state health insurance counselors to go over what is best for them.

“We came in here to get clarification on which drug supplemental plan would be best for my needs here as I turn 65 here in November and I start this journey for the first time,” said Gail Schmidkunz who is a Minot resident.

“I wouldn’t really know what to take, with their help it helps,” said Sharon Grosz, also a Minot resident.

Enrollment events are happening all over North Dakota.
State health insurance counselors will be in Bismarck Thursday.
