The State Fair has something for everyone to enjoy… even an arm wrestling competition. Arm wrestlers from all around the county and even Canada came to compete in the North Dakota State Arm Wrestling Contest. Both professionals and amateurs competed to show their strength one versus one. The athletes were organized into classes based on their height and weight so the matches were even.
“North Dakota has some of the best arm wrestlers in the country. Hands down. No pun intended. But truly, truly there is some incredible talent here in Minot. And we come up here, you know, Minnesotans and South Dakotans -Canadians- we travel so we can learn, you know, get better.” said Daniel Hughes, 2017 Super Heavyweight Champion in Minnesota.
The top three professionals in each division received a trophy and t-shirts were awarded to the first fifty entrants.
