The North Dakota Secretary of State announced the full cost of a recent statewide recount at $4,950.63.

Following the June primary, Libertarian candidate Roland Riemers did not have enough votes to be listed on the November ballot.

He only received 247 votes of the 300 needed to be placed on the ballot. Following the lack of votes he petitioned for, and was granted, a recount by the State Supreme Court.

That recount resulted in Riemers receiving one more additional vote, still leaving him 42 votes shy of the amount needed.

As allowed by state law, each county is allowed to submit their requests for reimbursement for expenses related to the recount.

Costs ranged from $7.25 in Sheridan County to $434.52 in Cass County.

Riemers will not be listed on the November ballot. Democratic-NPL candidate Josh Boschee, Independent candidate Al Jaeger and Independent candidate Michael Coachman are the three nominees for Secretary of State this November
