The Great Plains Food Bank has given out its 2018 agency of the year award.
It is the highest honor given to food pantries in North Dakota and Western Minnesota.
This year it was given to Our Savior Lord’s Food Pantry, which is in Max and has been open for three years.
Non-perishables, fruits and even meats are available to those in need.
More than 70 families are provided with assistance once a month.
“Both communities, Garrison and Max, you know…it’s unbelievable. It’s just…I don’t know what to say, just that everybody has been so, so great and so wonderful,” said Raymond Iverson, food pantry founder.
Iverson says they will not turn anyone away who needs help.
