The city of Bismarck will move forward in their plan to convert Main Avenue downtown into three lanes permanently.

The city commission officially awarded the project to Strata Corporation at $1.6 M, that was the lowest bid.
The money will go towards pavement improvements and markings, traffic signals, and to align the upgrades with the Americans with Disability Act.

The commission voted to approve the project 4 to 1 with Mayor Steve Bakken being the only dissenting vote.

The project is expected to be complete in June of 2020.
