BISMARCK – There’s new information regarding a hotly contested proposed wind farm in the area.
PNE Wind has officially filed an appeal to Burleigh County District Court appealing the decision by the Burleigh County Commission denying their request for a special use permit.
PNE says the decision was based on inappropriate, unreasonable, and not based on the factual evidence of the matter.
The company adds certain testimony by individuals against the project about flight paths and airplane safety contradicts findings by the FAA and could have influenced how the commission voted.
PNE hopes to build just over 70 wind turbines in Southern Burleigh and Northern Emmons county, generating millions in economic revenue for the area.
The appeal process is expected to last at least six months.
