Local police will be providing security as President Trump arrives in Bismarck on Wednesday.
On Twitter, Bismarck Police posted a photo of its officers preparing for Trump’s arrival. A route for the president’s motorcade has not been announced, but police vehicles will be helping the U.S. Secret Service as Trump travels from Bismarck Airport to the Andeavor oil refinery in Mandan.
About 170 people will be attending the invite-only speech outside the refinery. Lines have formed as people arrive at the event, the Morton County Sheriff’s Department shared on Twitter.
Police said that protesters and supporters have remained peaceful as both groups were gathered near the refinery.
During a special report starting at 2:30 p.m., Chad Mira will live from the speech while Malique Rankin is tracking the motorcade as part of team coverage of Trump’s visit to North Dakota. To watch our live coverage of Trump’s visit, visit our politics page.
