St. Patrick’s Day is an excuse for many citizens to spend the night out on the town, which makes police officers more aware of the area.

The Minot Police Department had a little bit more man power last night for the celebrated holiday.

In areas, such as downtown where a pub crawl was, police were around that spot more heavily.

Patrol Supervisor, Dale Plessas says that on Friday and Saturday nights we have more officers out during the hours of 10pm to 3am.

This year, the police didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

(Dale Plessas, Patrol Supervisor) “The Minot Police Department will focus on areas such as the pub crawl, we’ll focus on that area a little bit more just to ensure that you know that things go okay but it did last night. We didn’t have any calls of concern in that area, just minor violations.”

The patrol supervisor added that he’s proud that people are drinking responsibly.
