Police Silence Frustrating Community

Mandan – While the investigation into the deaths of four people in Mandan Monday remains an active investigation, some people are wondering why police have been so stringent with releasing information.

It’s been over 48 hours since the gruesome discovery of four bodies inside a Mandan Business, and since then police have been pretty tight-lipped about releasing details…

“I can’t, I can’t comment on that” Said Mandan Police Chief Jason Ziegler at Monday’s Press Conference.

For example, we still don’t know how the victims died, what kind of weapon was used, if the suspect was killed in the incident or if they may still be on the loose.

Police though have reassured the public that they don’t feel there’s any danger…

“The crime scene and what we’ve seen at the crime scene, the containment of the crime scene, the Investigation does not lead up to believe that anybody else is in danger.” Said Mandan Police Chief Jason Ziegler at Monday’s Press Conference.

But it’s that reluctance to release any additional information that has people we spoke with on edge…

“They don’t have a suspect, they don’t know what to do so then, their like, EVERYONES FINE, and they’re not releasing any information about anything so that’s pretty concerning because you know I’ve been honestly the last few days sleeping at home thinking to myself, what’s actually going on out there because my house is close to the site”. Said Mandan Resident Chris Satnan.

“Maybe they have some information, that they’re holding on to because they have somebody in mind, But I do feel like I’m looking over my shoulder when I go to my car or the grocery store, it is concerning a little bit. Said Bismarck Resident Mary Martell.

Others we talked to still think it’s a little early to be demanding answers…

I guess I don’t really think it’s a big deal that they’re not releasing it, they’re doing it for a purpose, um, they need to keep things private so, I just think they need to do their job and  not have to worry about the public” Said Mandan Resident Stephanie Hager.

“I think they’re doing everything they can, um, as soon as they have more information, I feel like they will give it out to the public” Said Bismarck Resident Aric Heinert.

And so… we wait.
