Update 10:35 a.m.– Capital Electric says all of their customers should be back online with power.
Update 10:15 a.m. – Power is still out in some areas southeast of the University of Mary, south of Bismarck and south of Fox Island, according to recent posts by residents in those areas. Crews continue to work to resolve the outage. Power is back on at Lincoln Elementary School and Prairie Rose School.
Update: The outage area has now been reduced to 2 substations on the south side of Bismarck and near the University of Mary.
Residents in the Bismarck area are without power Thursday morning.
According to Capital Electric Power Cooperative, customers in Bismarck, Menoken, McClusky, and Lincoln are experiencing outages.
Prairie Rose and Lincoln Elementary Schools are also without power, but school is being held as normal. If the power is still out by mid-morning, Bismarck Public Schools will reassess the situation.
Wachter Middle School has power; classes are being held as normal.
Crews are working on resolving the problem. As of 8:00 AM, the power co-op does not have an estimate on when power will be restored.
In a Facebook post, the Lincoln Police Department is warning residents to “drive slowly and use extra caution,” and plan for a longer commute than usual.
