President Travel With Democratic Senator

Bismarck, ND – The entire North Dakota delegation traveled with President Donald Trump on Air Force One Wednesday. That includes Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp.

He even called her up on stage with the rest of North Dakota’s delegation at one point. Heitkamp released this statement afterward.

“It’s encouraging he committed to promoting American workers as key to any tax reform policy. But, as North Dakota’s former Tax Commissioner, I know the devil is in the details of any reform plan as tax codes are complex, and we need to know what those details are.”

Republican State Senator Tom Campbell was also in the audience Wednesday. He plans to run against Sen. Heitkamp in the 2018 U.S. Senate race.

He said it can be hard to tell which side of an issue Heitkamp will fall on.

“Not only is she listening to the president’s desires, but it is also North Dakota hard working families’ desires…It would be a no brainer to me. If I was Senator in that position it would be an absolute no brainer. You would never have to wonder which side you’re going to get today, or this week or this bil,” he said.
