A local shelter has taken in four Hurricane Harvey survivors.

Princess, Angel, Sweetheart, and Lola are all lab mixes from the Houston Humane Society. They estimated that the puppies are all around six months old. Over the past week, they have traveled north through a chain of custody with the ASPCA. The puppies arrived at the Souris Valley Animal Shelter around 4:30 Sunday morning.

“Now, we have to wait until our vet checks them to make sure that they’re actually available for adoption. We’re going to make sure they’re healthy and if they’re not healthy, we’re going to try to get them healthy.” said Randy McDonald, SVAS Shelter Director.

McDonald added that the process usually takes about ten days. When the puppies are ready for adoption, an announcement will be made on the shelter’s Facebook page at http://bit.ly/2eOYfn3.
