A Minot man who’s been in jail for gross sexual imposition for most of the past 13 years is heading back to prison.

Alton Ames, III, was first convicted in 2005 of illegal sexual contact with a boy– over a three year period when the boy was as young as 11.
After serving part of a six year sentence, his probation was revoked in 2010 and he was ordered to serve another ten years.

He was released after three years in 2013, but last year was found in violation of probation again – including for having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old.

This week, Judge Doug Mattson revoked his probation for a third time and ordered him to serve nearly ten years in prison.
