More than 13-hundred kids in the Minot area had their noses in books for at least some of this summer.
The Summer Reading Program encouraged kids to devote a bit of time to reading each day.
And today, the local libraries and sponsors including KX News held a party to celebrate the end of the program.
Kids got to play kick ball, tennis, softball, and other activities, plus get their faces painted, get a glitter tattoo, and even pick up a balloon from Dizzy the Clown.
(Paulette Nelson, Minot Librarian) “It’s our attempt to keep kids busy and reading and engaged through the summer.”
“I read about animals.”
“What are your favorites?”
“I read the books that my aunt gave me for Christmas and my birthday.”
“A book about animals at a hotel.”
“Really? Was it good?”
And when Jim Olson asked the kids if they were excited for school to start again – he says it was a mixed response.
