If you want to get rid of your old electronics, KX News and North Dakota E-Waste will help you do it for free.

From 8 am – 7 pm, Computers for a Cause will take place Wednesday, May 1 at First International Bank and Trust at 1600 South Broadway.

Here is what is accepted FOR FREE:
computers  (including both laptops and desktops)
printers, copiers, fax machines
stereo components
satellite receivers, VCR or DVD Players
old phones (office, cell, or smartphone)
any network or server equipment
tablets
video game consoles
MP3 players, iPods, handheld gaming systems

However, we CANNOT accept TVs or old-style tube TVs and monitors.

By recycling your electronics, you get to help your kids in the area.

For every computer brought, North Dakota E-Waste will donate $5 to the Souris Valley United Way’s Backpack Buddies program. The program currently feeds more than 200 children and aims to feed more.

There will also be on-site hard drive shredding – that’s just five dollars if you need it.
