The American Red Cross has opened its Multi-Agency Resource Center, or MARC, in Watford City, to help those affected by the recent tornado that struck the community.

Residents can meet at the Watford City Civic Center with representatives from the Red Cross, McKenzie County Social Services, Department of Health Services, McKenzie County Veteran Service Office, Lutheran Social Services, Salvation Army, Lutheran Disaster Response, USDA Rural Housing, Department of Human Services, Public Health and Community Action.

“In 13 years of disaster response, I have never seen a community come together and support its people like this one,” Tom Tezel, Red Cross Regional Disaster Officer, said of Watford City. “We would like to thank community groups and government agencies for their partnership. The Red Cross is fortunate to be a part of this extraordinary effort.”

The resource center will be open until 7:00 p.m., tonight. Residents who are unable to attend can contact Regional Recovery Manager Katie Webster at katie.webster@redcross.org
