Century High School gets the first ever coffee shop in a Bismarck Public School.
The school opened Red, White and Brew on the first day of school.
It’s a part of the renovation at Century High School and students took part by naming it.
Not only is the coffee shop convenient for students, it also offers nutritious options.
“What is different about our coffee drinks is that there is going to be less calories and less fat. Because we still have to follow USDA guidelines for selling these types of items. So, we offer smaller portions, some of our things are going to be sugar free instead of your regular sugar syrups,” said Michelle Wagner, Child Nutrition Program Director for BPS.
Child Nutrition is partnering with Mighty Missouri Coffee as a source for coffee beans.
The coffee shop cost $75,000 taken from the districts budget fund.
