ESPN is reporting a recent CT scan on Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz’s back has revealed a fractured vertebrae, which may force him out for the rest of the season.
ESPN quotes unnamed sources that say the injury can fully heal if Wentz is allowed time to rest. Otherwise, continued play would make the fracture worse.
Officially, the Philadelphia Eagles still say they are taking a “wait and see” approach to whether or not Carson Wentz will start this Sunday against the Rams in Los Angeles.
The Eagles website says quarterback Wentz missed practice on Wednesday with what head coach Doug Pederson described as “a little bit of back soreness, a little tightness.”
His game day status remains undecided as of Thursday afternoon and there has been no comment on the unofficial injury reports.
