Twenty two percent of all North Dakota seniors are veterans.
Touchmark Retirement Community took the day to honor their own service men and women.
Touchmark held a special service for veterans joining together singing “God Bless America,” “The Armed Forces Medley” and folding and presenting the flag.
They ended the service with every former military member getting the chance to stand and be thanked for their service.
One veteran in the crowd, Peter Nagel, says no matter how many years go by it’s an honor to be recognized.
“[When] they say every veteran would you stand up I get that chill in me every time it happens,” Peter Nagel, U.S. Army veteran says.
The retirement community also marked the special day by placing flags along Century Avenue for their third annual flags on Century.
