Earlier this month, the North Dakota Supreme Court ordered a recount for Roland Riemer, the Libertarian candidate for Secretary of State.

All 53 counties in the state are conducting recounts and according to the Ward County Auditor their recount took place on Friday.

Overall, Riemer needs 300 votes to be placed on the November ballot – but he fell 53 votes short at two-hundred forty seven.

Ward County auditor says that the results were the same as they were in June – only 12 votes.

“He happened to be here and was I guess please with our process and thanked us for the time,” said Devra Smestad, Ward County Auditor.

For this recount it cost Ward County two-hundred dollars to pay for workers.

The recount is statewide and continues through tomorrow.
