Robert Roed sworn in as Ward County Sheriff

In November, citizens of Minot voted Robert Roed to fill the position of Ward County Sheriff. On Monday, the almost 30 year veteran of the department took his oath of office. Judge Todd Cresap swore in Roed with friends, family, and co-workers nearby.

Roed will be replacing Bob Barnard after winning last month’s election by a little more than 2,000 votes.

“It’s a relief now that the day is finally here. It’s pretty much a career-long dream of mine. Something I’ve been looking forward to for my entire career,” says Sheriff Robert Roed, Ward County.

The appointment will go into effect, officially, tonight at midnight.
