A routine traffic stop turned into a foot pursuit in Bismarck Monday.
A 3:47 p.m., two officers were in a patrol car when they saw a vehicle speeding through the intersection of South 11th and Indiana Avenue. The officers turned on their lights and pursued the car, but it didn’t stop. The suspect lost control of his vehicle and collided with the curb. While the car was still rolling, the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The officers were able to catch him.
According to the affidavit, there was a small child on the southeast corner of the street, close to where the unattended car was rolling. The child remained untouched.
The suspect, a 20-year-old Bismarck male, is charged with fleeing on foot, marijuana paraphernalia, and driving under suspension.
