Sabre Dogs still looking for host families 10 days before season starts

There are just a few short weeks until baseball is back in the Magic City.

But before that can happen, the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs need a little more help from the community.

As of today, there’s still four players in need of host families.

The Expedition League does not pay their players, as they are all collegiate athletes.

That’s why it’s up to the community to put a roof over their heads during the summer months.

The team will be on the road half the time, with 32 home games and 32 away in just a 75 day season, and host families get free season tickets.

“We really need to make sure that these players get homes before they actually report here. They are coming from all over the country, and we don’t want them to not have a home to go to. So I think that’s the last puzzle piece before our season starts, is that we just need to make sure that these guys are really taken care of,” Sabre Dogs’ Assistant General Manager, Savannah Young said.

The players are expected to report to Minot on May 22, with their season opener on May 25 and the home opener at Corbett Field on Friday, June 1.
