Sanford Hospice held it’s annual memorial tree lighting ceremony on Sunday.
The ceremony “One Light to Remember,” allowed people to honor and remember a loved one. People were able to hear a message about grief and learned how to cope through the holidays. Sanford Hospice Manager, Shannon Feist, says the ceremony serves as a support system.
“This is a service that is needed, sometimes it’s hard for people to find a support group or feel comfortable going to a support group. So, hospice does have a couple of events throughout the year that we put out there so that people can come in and feel accepted,” Feist said.
The event is always the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
