Saturday’s Weather Update 10/15

The latest Forecast from the KX News Dakota Storm Center.

High pressure is currently over the Dakota’s and this is enabling the above average temperatures that we have been seeing across the area over the coarse of the weekend. Temperatures today were in the 70s and expect much of the same conditions tomorrow. The average temperatures for this time of year is in the mid 50’s and lows are in the mid 30s. By Sunday night, conditions will be changing as the high will move eastward and be replaced by a high pressure system. Winds will also be breezy as the pressure gradient becomes stronger. The first half of the week will likely see rain showers scattered across the area and temperatures will fall back closer to average for the remainder of the week as the low pressure also moves eastward. Most of the week will see few clouds to partly cloudy skies across much of the area. Some current model runs are showing much cooler temperatures by the end of the month.

Tonight, overnight lows in the mid 40s with increasing clouds throughout the night. A southeast wind at 1-8 mph.
Sunday, breezy conditions at times from the southeast and shifting west at 10-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph, otherwise, partly cloudy skies. Highs expected to be on either side of 70 degrees.
Sunday night, lows continue to be above average in the mid 40s with a few clouds throughout the area and a west wind shifting southwest at 1-8 mph.
Monday, highs in the mid 60s with a chance of showers developing throughout the area staying mainly to the south with partly cloudy skies. Winds out of the south at 2-10 mph.
Monday night, some showers clearing overnight and will pick back up for Tuesday. Skies become partly cloudy with a west wind shifting northwest at 1-8 mph. Lows in the mid 40s.
