Mandan School Administrators are working hard to recover from an accidental information leak that happened at the school just yesterday.

Mandan High School’s administrative office sent an email containing names of all 1,024 students, addresses, phone numbers, PowerSchool ID’s, Department of Public Instruction State ID’s, student schedules and locker combinations.

They had intended to send each student’s second semester schedule.

Assistant Superintendent of Mandan Public Schools Jeff Fastnacht says the email was delivered on a human error and they are quickly taking action to prevent any negative outcome.

“Some thing we can not do anything about, but an apology and we are openly stating that we regret this incident. For some information we are trying to secure it as quickly as possible,” said Jeff Fastnacht, Mandan Public Schools Assistant Superintendent.

Fastnacht says those who received the email were told to delete it. Students are now allowed to bring padlocks for their lockers if they choose, and will be getting new student lunch numbers in the next 24 hours.
