Schools Are Celebrating Their State Basketball Teams

The buzz of the class B basketball tournament returns this Thursday and teams and their communities are getting hyped for the upcoming games.

The Stanley boys basketball team is returning to state for the second year in a row.

“To go 2 years in a row is super fun and hopefully we can a lot do better this year than we did last year,” said Matt Patten, Point Guard.

This time they want to bring home a title; Their very first title.

“This year going back we’re just going to try to improve and try to win a couple more games while we’re down there,” said Wyatt Hanson, Forward.

The team believes that it’s possible to win it all especially with all this support.

“They come to every single game no matter where it is and it’s nice to know there’s always somebody going to be cheering for you,” said Patten.

“It’s really cool to talk to people you maybe never talk to before that are just super proud of you,” said Hanson.

“I wish them the best of luck and to enjoy it and have a lot of fun,” said Kelly Hanson, Basketball Dad.

The dad’s did their part, reenacting best moments from the regional tournament.

“I’m doing the best that I can do to mimic my son who can grow a beard better than I can,” said Kyle Hanson, Basketball Dad.

You can bet fans young and old will be showing their blue jay pride during state B and they already are.

Stanley plays on Thursday when they take on Carrington.
