45 feet in under three seconds: the Pinewood Derby Races are here.
The Tomahawk District Cub Scouts gathered with their custom little racecars to compete for the fastest time down the track. Each car started from a block of wood which the scouts transformed into a high speed racer.
KX News asked a few scouts about the parts of the process they found most challenging.
“Put it in the car just so there’s like this thin layer between the top and where you put the weights in,” says Liam Prey, Webelo Scout.
“If you’re not careful with the paint, it can drip down,” says Zoey Boucher, Bear Scout
“Cutting them properly and I paint them myself,” says Nathaniel Howell, Webelo Scout
The fastest cars reached speeds of nearly 200 miles per hour.
