The man suspected of shooting two people with a rifle outside a Minot bar Saturday morning is on probation after serving a six-month sentence in Tennessee for aggravated assault.
25-year-old Steven D. Stewart is accused of attempted murder and terrorizing in connection with a shooting outside Sports on Tap early Saturday that sent two men to the hospital.
Court records indicate Stewart was extradited from North Dakota to Tennessee in mid-2015 where he was convicted of aggravated assault for strangulation and sentenced to six months in jail plus five years of probation.
Meanwhile in North Dakota, Stewart is currently facing three Class-A Felony counts of Delivery of Coacane and Meth, related to two separate incidents in February.
Jail records indicate Stewart was arrested September 27th but posted bond of three thousand dollars and was released from jail the next day.
Each of the three Class-A Felonies carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Today, he’s the subject of a search that stretches at least into Idaho.
News reports in Idaho Falls indicate law enforcement there have been warned that Stewart, and Trameisha Simmons, a second person wanted for questioning in connection with the shootings may be headed their way.
