North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp says she’ll donate the money she makes during this government shutdown.

In a tweet Sunday morning, Heitkamp says quote:

“It’s unfortunate for families and workers that the federal government shut down again, the 3rd time in the past 2 years.”

Heitkamp calls it the right thing to do when so many are feeling the impacts of what she calls — “this poor move by the administration.”

This is not the first time she has donated her salary from a government shutdown.

She says the money will go toward YouthWorks in North Dakota.

An organization that works to combat youth homelessness and help stop human trafficking.

We reached out to Senator John Hoeven — he too will be donating his salary during the shutdown.

A spokesperson tells us the Senator will likely donate his pay to the ND National Guard Foundation..

Meanwhile, President Trump’s incoming Chief of Staff says the partial shutdown could continue into next year.
