It’s been an active weather year here in North Dakota.
It feels like severe weather has rolled through our KX News viewing area every couple of days.
While the moisture has been much needed after last year’s drought, the severe weather is something we can do without.

A graphic from the Iowa Environmental Mesonet shows the number of thunderstorm warnings issued per National Weather Service office.
Western North Dakota is on the higher end of the scale as far as Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued this summer.

As of July 23rd there have been 229.
To put that into perspective, in 2017, there were 103 severe thunderstorm warnings.
