Sex Offender Wanted in Alabama Found in North Dakota

(AP) — Officials say a registered sex offender from Alabama wanted on numerous felony warrants has been hiding out in North Dakota.

Authorities say the 41-year-old man was convicted of sexually abusing a child in North Dakota among other felonies. Police say the man was a passenger in a vehicle stopped in Berthold. He was arrested for providing false information and drug possession.

Ward County jailers ran a fingerprint check and learned he was wanted in Alabama. He was booked into the jail Friday and is expected in court Monday afternoon.
