Sheriff’s department helps families have a safe Halloween


With Halloween approaching, law enforcement wants to make sure families know which areas are safe to take their kids trick or treating in.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Department wants parents to know where high risk sex offenders are living.

The department posted a link on its Facebook page to

The sex offender registry is through the attorney general’s office and lets people know within a five mile radius a physical address of where an offender lives.

“When there kids are out trick or treating . .  .safety as a means of making the public aware of where high risk sex offenders are,” Terry Oestreich, Stark County Sheriff.

The Stark County Sheriff”s Department wants everyone to have a safe and fun Halloween,
and welcomes the public to contact them with any questions or concerns.
