Snowmobile drivers enjoy warmer weather

One group of people always looks forward to a forecast of snow, even when it comes a little late in the season. The Magic City Drift Busters Snowmobile Club took advantage of the warmer weather and put on a little competition.

In a radar run, the goal is to go as fast as you can on a one thousand foot-long track. Some of the fastest snowmobiles can get up to 100 miles per hour. It’s not just for the new kids on the block, some riders even showed-off the speed of their early 1970’s snowmobiles.  But for those without the need for speed, there are always the trail rides.

“There’s clubs all over the state of North Dakota. I mean, there’s 2,800 miles of trails in the state of North Dakota that clubs voluntarily groom and sign so that people like us can go ride,” says Mark Forbes, Member of Magic City Drift Buster.

Forbes says the wind chills have made it hard to ride this season, but the weather for the radar run was near perfect.
