Sources: Kotelnicki coaching last game as UMary football coach

The University of Mary football team plays their final game of the season this afternoon against the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The matchup also serves as Josh Kotelnicki’s last game as head coach, according to multiple sources at the university.

The sources told KX Sports, Kotelnicki informed the team during a meeting before the game he would not be coming back to coach the team next year.

The official announcement was originally scheduled for Monday at an 8 a.m. press conference, however now the announcement will follow UMary’s last game.

Sources also said University of Mary Director of Athletics Dale Lennon will take over as the interim head coach and a search for the next head coach will begin immediately.

In four seasons as head coach, Kotelnicki is 8-35. His best season was his first year, when the Marauders went 5-6.
