Squadron Commander at MAFB Removed

News

A squadron commander at the Minot Air Force Base has been relieved of his command as of today.

An Air Force press release says Lieutenant Colonel Paul Goossen was removed from his post due to, quote, “a loss of trust and confidence from his failure to maintain a professional workplace environment,” unquote.

Goosen had been the commander of the 69th Bomb Squadron, one of two squadrons of B-52 bombers that operate at the base.
He was immediately replaced by Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Zabka, the former director of operations for the 5th Operations Support Squadron, which is also part of the 5th Bomb Wing at the Minot base.
