Earlier this month, CHI St. Alexius’ Medical Executive Committee threatened their resignation, demanding hospital administrators be fired. Earlier this week, they did indeed resign, as no action by the hospital was taken.
KX News has been repeatedly reaching out to the hospital for comment. Today, they sent a statement, saying a subcommittee has been created to help alleviate tensions and work to find solutions to move forward.
The empty member positions of the Medical Executive Committee will be filled with other hospital physicians. The physicians that resign from their positions will continue to work at the hospital and treat patients.
The hospital’s board of directors sent the following quote:
“We know that transitions present challenges but working together we will continue our work for a strong future as we meet the needs of our patients and the community in a rapidly changing environment while our hard working, caring and dedicated staff and employees continue to provide quality care to our patients,” said Kurt Schley; President CHI St. Alexius.
