Standing Rock Elementary brought some holiday cheer to the Kirkwood mall today.
The Elementary school choir sang Christmas carols for everyone who stopped to listen.
They dressed in Lakota Ribbon skirts and shirts and sang carols in both English and Lakota.
And after hours of practice, their director says, they hope everyone who hears will leave with a little more holiday spirit.
“We intend to do service in the community, this is what can we do as a group, as young children, so we can inspire other people,” Ed Palina, Standing Rock Elementary School teacher says.
“What was your favorite part of today? Spending a lot of time here and singing to you guys,” Kaimyn Little Dog Hastings, Standing Rock Elementary, 2nd grader says.
The choir collected money while caroling and all money raised will go to buying gifts they will be delivering to a local nursing home’s residents.
