Stark County prepares to light up the sky

Over in Stark County people are getting ready to light up the sky.

They are flooding firework stands and buying them by the cartload, but the Dickinson Fire Department is reminding people that the use, possession, or sale of fireworks is not allowed in city limits.

Anyone caught can be fined up to $1,000.

The drought last year canceled Dickinson’s firework’s show, and the use of fireworks county wide.

“Oh, definitely without the water obviously not good to light off fireworks. It’s definitely nice having moisture again this year, because the fireworks sales are way up, and we are thrilled about that,” said Shawn Brannan, Manager of Memory Fireworks in North Dickinson.

Dickinson will also have it’s own fireworks show at the DSU Rodeo Grounds tomorrow night at 10 p.m.

A Demolition Derby will take place earlier in the day at the Stark County Fairgrounds at 3p.m.
