Dickinson Man Aims to Overturn Bills Passed by the Legislature

State News

AP ND– A Dickinson electrician is leading an effort to overturn three bills that recently passed the North Dakota Legislature.

Friday, Secretary of State Al Jaeger announced the referral petitions, submitted by Riley Kuntz.

The petitions are in an effort to stop new restrictions on the state auditor, funding for the proposed Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, and to repeal legislation that covers up communications between lawmakers and public employees.

Kuntz argues a 50-million dollar endowment to run the Roosevelt Library is not a good use of taxpayer money.

He says restrictions on the state auditor and concealing lawmaker communications from the public, take away transparency in government.
