SOLON, OH (WCMH) — Police are warning people about a scam targeting Netflix users.

According to the Solon, Ohio Police Department, scammers are sending emails to people claiming their Netflix account’s payment details need to be updated.

Police say this is a type of phishing scam to gain financial information.

“Criminals want you to click the links, so that you voluntarily give your personal identifying information away,” officers wrote on their Facebook page.

And whatever you do, don’t click on suspicious link and provide your personal information.

Police recommend to always contact the direct source, if you get an email like this and to keep your accounts maintained.

Here are some more tips from (the real) Netflix about keeping your account safe: Netflix.com
