The North Dakota State Penitentiary is on lockdown at this time, meaning there cannot be any visitation, both video and in-person, while the lockdown is in effect.
Officials say the lockdown will be reassessed on Monday, January 28.
Earlier this week, there were two separate incidents involving staff assaults, which are under investigation.
“At this point in the investigation, seven employees have been referred by protocol to be seen by a doctor to be assessed or treated for any injuries,” according to a news release from the state penitentiary. “When these types of incidents happen it is protocol to be on lockdown so an investigation can be conducted.”
