North Dakota’s unemployment rate remains lower than the national average.

Since last month, the rate dropped from 3.2 percent to 2.9 percent.
The national average sits at 3.9 percent.
Job service North Dakota says much of this is due to seasonal jobs in the area.

“It means career opportunities, there’s a multiple industries that are hiring our oil activity obviously is picking back up again so there’s opportunities there — there’s also health care, hospitality, retail — management positions,” said Susan Ogurek with Job Service.
