Following the positive identification of Darvin Gratz, the family released the following statement:
“The family is extremely grateful that Darv had a chance to come home.
It means the world to his parents and the rest of his family.
The search efforts were led by his brothers, Darren and Steve Gratz, who have spent every night camping on Fort Rice and their days walking alongside the river and patrolling it by boat.
The work they did means the world to the family.
Not only are they dealing with the loss of their brother, but selflessly used their time to find him.
The family is grateful to Burleigh, Stutsman and Cass for the work they did to help locate him.
The family is very grateful and volunteers who turned out to look for him.”
