Stolen AR-15 recovered from routine traffic stop

Two men were placed under arrest after a routine traffic stop turned into the recovery of a stolen AR-15 as well as drugs and drug paraphernalia Thursday evening.

At 7:22 p.m., a vehicle failed to yield at the right away at a stop sign on the 400 block of north 16th street. Bismarck Police officers conducted a traffic stop and found the stolen firearm, a black magazine with ammunition, meth, meth paraphernalia, and marijuana paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

The driver, a 24-year-old male from Bismarck, admitted to a burglary at a residence in Lincoln earlier in the evening. He was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of meth, possession of meth paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of a concealed weapon, and driving under suspension.

The passenger, a 27-year-old from Sterling, was arrested on a warrant.
