Seniors at Bismarck High School get a chance to read specially written books to second graders at Will-Moore Elementary School.
It’s an English class assignment for the high schoolers, their task is to create an epic tale starring a Will-Moore second grader.
English teacher, Andrew Fisher, says he incorporated the project into his curriculum eight years ago and it benefits everyone.
“They like to see what the seniors came up with, giving them super powers, and having them do challenging things and saving people,” Fisher said. “It’s reflecting values that our culture has, the kids love reading them all day and they are even inspired to do their own writing.”
The students do this once a year at Will-Moore Elementary School.
